NEW DELHI: Describing ties with Nepal as unparalleled, PM Modi, ahead of his visit to Lumbini on Monday, said civilisational and people-to-people contacts between India and Nepal formed the "enduring edifice" of the close relationship and that his visit is intended to celebrate and further deepen these "time-honoured linkages that have been fostered through centuries and recorded in our long history of inter-mingling".

Modi said on Sunday that he was also looking forward to meeting PM Sher Bahadur Deuba again after their recent meeting and that the two would continue to build on their "shared understanding" to expand cooperation in multiple areas, including in hydro-power, development and connectivity. A bilateral meeting between the two PMs is also scheduled to undertake a comprehensive review of recent agreements. MoUs on cooperation in cultural and educational sectors are expected to be exchanged between the two countries after the bilateral meeting, go nment sources said.

In his previous visits to Nepal as PM of India, said a source, Modi has visited places of re gious significance that binds together people of India and Nepal, like the Pashupatinath temple in Kathmandu, Janaki Mata temple in Janakpur Dham and Muktinath temple in Mustang.

According to India, the visit is aimed at promoting further the close, comprehensive and multi-dimensional bilateral ties founded on the age-old connection of history, culture, tradition and re gion.

India should explore if Nepal can be asked to join Indian Union. China cmed Tib is theirs. No other country can stop Nepal joining India. It will be the first step India can take to re-gain Himyas.
