NEW DELHI: Ravi Dahiya will look to become India's second individual gold medallist in Olympics as he faces reigning world champion Russian Zavur Uguev in freestyle 57kg final on Thursday. The Indian men's hockey team will have a chance to secure an Olympic medal after 41 years when they take on Germany in the bronze medal match.

Im personally happy with Indias performance this time. 60% of the medals in olympics are awarded in athletics and swimming. If IOC or go nment provide proper facilities and foreign training in these two areas, definitely medal count of India will incrase.

There are certain idiots in the comments section, who knows nothing about Olympic medals and India's past performances.

India has only 9 Gold medals. Out of which 8 are in hockey and one Abhinav Bindra in sh ting. Hockey too, last medal was a bronze in 1980 Moscow Olympics.

Only one individual has more than one medal.

Going by the standards, India has done much better.
